This is a major fundraiser for our club. It keeps our hockey fees one of the lowest in the area. This fundraiser pays for ice rental, tournament entry fees, money for prize tables and more.
Please note:
1. Bingos are at Central Bingo downtown PA @ 80 - 12th St West. The time is 5PM til midnight. Be there at 5PM. Don’t be late.
2. If you have a ‘C’ beside your name, it means you will be looking after the bingo that night ie: you can assign someone else to work behind the counter if you wish; you are responsible to see that cards and float money are counted; you will pay the canteen tab from petty cash in the deposit bag; you will do ‘cash out’ with the bingo supervisor at the end of the night. Please keep these duties in mind if you are hiring someone in your place - they would be taking over these duties on your behalf.
3. Please notice there are only 4 people scheduled for each bingo. This is because we have less families this year.
4. I cannot cover anyone’s bingos. It is YOUR responsibility to hire or trade and to let me know of changes made. I will make a reminder phone call several days before your scheduled bingo date.
What happens if you are a ‘NO SHOW’ to work your bingo?
1. The other Birch Hills workers have extra work to do-YOUR work. It is very difficult to manage a bingo with only three people. It is impossible with only two.
2. It is very embarrassing for our club and the workers there to have to explain to Central Bingo why we are short of people.
3. Central Bingo has every right to cancel our bingos - if they determine we are an unreliable club.
4. If this fund raiser is taken away from us, hockey fees next year will skyrocket.
5. So if you cannot work the date you are scheduled:
-HIRE someone in your place
-TRADE with someone
-BEG your mother
-DO NOT LEAVE US SHORT OF WORKERS
Replacement workers for hire
Cost is $50 and you make arrangements for payment yourself.

Rose Ouost 763-7365 Rose knows of other replacement workers if needed.

-4 presents from Quayles. I will ask Debbie to bill Minor Sports directly
-You will need the cash box from Cathy M which will contain the $200 float required for each bingo
2. Civic Center will be open by 6PM.
-snacks, coffee, sugar, coffee whitener, cups, stir sticks, bingo dabbers are in an open cupboard in the kitchen labelled Minor sports
- make coffee right away. Instructions are in the kitchen
- put pop in fridge. Sell at $1 per pop. $.50 per bag chips. $1.50 per bingo dabber
- put out donation container for coffee
- assign someone to look after selling snacks and pop etc
- put out table cloths ie: plastic ones from the room on the stage
3. Take trolley from kitchen to the stage to put bingo cards on. They are located in the room on the stage. Take cards to the back table and count out cards you will need according to the ‘cash sheet’ in the cash box. Record these numbers on the ‘cash’ sheet. This sheet will need to be filled out by the end of the night and left in the cash box. Put out the signs for the prices of the cards
4. People will buy cards as they come in, or workers can sell cards at the tables
5. There are instructions on the master copy of the ‘cash sheet’ about bingo ties, bonanza payouts.
6. After you have cashed out at the end of the night, please keep $200 float in the cash box and give the rest to either Vicki Macfie or CathyM. Float = $10 bills x 8 / $2 coins x $50 / $1 coins x $25 / $5 bills x 9. Keep bonanza $ for the growing jackpot in a separate envelope in the cash box. Keep pop, snack, and dabber $ in a separate envelope also
7. When someone wins a bingo, a worker will give that person a ‘ticket’ with the prize listed on it. They can collect that prize at the end of the night. Please keep the tickets to use again at the next bingo. Cash payouts will be done at the time the bingo is won.
8. Everyone cleans up at the end
